I went to this church looking for someone I currently live with who had been deliberately trying to stop me from coming to church with her family, (whom I have been very kind to). I thought that if I could catch up with them, I could apologize and try to reason with them. I saw a car identical to the family's and assumed this was the right place to find them. I went into this church looking for them and when I took a few steps inside, I saw a church filled with mostly Asian members. I thought they probably weren't speaking my language but as I turned to walk out the doors(1), a kind lady walking her child to sunday school passed by and I asked her if they were speaking English. She confirmed that they are speaking English and welcomed me in with a smile. When I heard the man speaking to the church, I didn't see the family I was searching for. I turned to walk out the door and continue my search for the family I am staying with(2), A thought came to me saying, "I am searching for the wrong person." I turned around and I heard the same voice in my head saying, don't worry about finding her, sit down... I am right were I belong."
After the service, I was warmly welcomed by many of the church members. They offered for me to join them all upstairs for an after-service lunch. This was before I even had a chance to tell anyone that I was mere hours away from likely homelessness. I enjoyed a smorgasbord of fine foods from baked chicken to lo mein to Chinese dumplings to danishes and tea. This is a church filled with warm and colorful people. If you can cope with some of their slightly broken English, it is a warm place of fellowship with kindness bursting from every corner.
The kindness I found here was something I had all but forgotten existed. It was a relief, like a deep oasis of warmth and kindness in this desert of lies, greed, and heartlessness (aka- modern society). I will be back for sure.
PS- Let's all pray for Mr Kevin Pantella, below. I have no idea what he's talking about in that post. The poor man has obviously missed the mark.Added December 14, 2016 by James Hilton - ★ ★ ☆ ☆ ☆
Sent up numerous prayers, none were answered! I'm beginning to think this whole "God" thing is a sham. Don't waste your time with this place. The staff is quite delusional if you ask me.
